Emergency Dental Services definition

Emergency Dental Services means those services which are required immediately due to an injury or unforeseen condition, and which provide for the relief of pain or prevent worsening of any condition that would be caused by delay. Refer also to the definition of Acute Emergency.
Emergency Dental Services means Covered Services provided after the sudden onset of a dental condition involving the teeth and supporting tissues with symptoms severe enough to cause a prudent person to believe that there is an immediate need to be treated by a relevant professional.
Emergency Dental Services means Covered Services provided after the sudden onset of a dental condition with symptoms severe enough to cause a prudent person to believe that lack of immediate medical attention could result in serious:  jeopardy to his health;  jeopardy to the health of an unborn child;  impairment of a bodily function; or  dysfunction of any bodily organ or part.

Examples of Emergency Dental Services in a sentence

  • The Contractor must pay for Emergency Dental Services obtained by an Enrollee when the Enrollee had an Emergency Medical or Dental Condition but such condition did not result in the three outcomes specified in the definition of an Emergency Medical or Dental Condition.

  • Absence of a Clinical Emergency The Contractor must pay for Emergency Dental Services obtained by an Enrollee when the Enrollee had an Emergency Medical or Dental Condition but such condition did not result in the three outcomes specified in the definition of an Emergency Medical or Dental Condition.
