Clinical practice is an important and highly relevant aspect of the clinical track faculty role and is consistent with the mission statements of the UMass Amherst College of Nursing.
Clinical practice provides opportunities for identifying clinical problems that need to be addressed through scholarship, advocacy and/or policy change, and for responding to community needs based on the historical commitment of nursing to meet the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.
Clinical practice shall refer to the participation by an Intern in the duties and functions of a psychologist or school attendance worker under the direct supervision and instruction of one or more Commission qualified Clinical Practice Supervisors.
