Common use of Witness/Jury Duty Clause in Contracts

Witness/Jury Duty. An employee subpoenaed as a witness or called for jury duty shall be paid at his/her basic rate of pay providing the employee remits to the Payroll Office any monies received other than for reimbursement of expenses. The employee will be required to work during those scheduled working hours that he/she is not required to attend the court proceedings. The Employer may require the employee to furnish the document which requires him/her to appear as a witness or summons requiring him/her to appear for jury duty before making any payment under this article.
