Vacation Scheduling – Christmas Period. All requests for time off during the Christmas and New Years period (December 15th to January 15th) shall be submitted to the Employer by October 1st of any year. The Employer will post the work schedule of the upcoming Christmas and New Years period by November 1st. Approval of vacation and other time off will be based on seniority provided that the Employer has sufficient replacement staff to meet the operational requirements of the Centre. Employees who do not submit their vacation request prior to October 1st of any year may have their vacation request approved provided that it does not disrupt the operational requirements of the Centre. Such requests will be considered on a first come first served basis.

  • Vacation Scheduling (a) With the exception of authorized vacation carryover under Clause 18.6, the scheduling and completion of vacations shall be on a calendar-year basis.

  • Vacation Period ‌ The choice of vacation periods shall be granted to employees on the basis of seniority with the Employer except where the period requested would be detrimental to the operation of the Employer.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and employee.

  • Vacation Schedule 1. Vacation periods shall be fixed by the Employer to suit the requirements of his business, but as far as possible and practicable, vacations will be given during the summer months, and for employees with school-age children, during the school vacations. Vacation periods shall be unbroken unless by mutual consent between Employer and employee, or where it is impractical. Grievances relating to this Section shall be subject to the Adjustment and Arbitration Procedure in this Agreement.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.

  • Training Period The training provided for in this article shall be given during the hours of work whenever possible. Any such training outside of working hours shall be considered voluntary unless at the request of the Employer, in which case time devoted to training shall be considered as time worked.

  • Vacation Periods Vacation schedules will be set by the employee’s immediate supervisor(s) and sent to the Office of Human Resources for approval. Employees may request a particular period for vacation. Vacation days may not be taken in advance of their accrual. Those employees who are on a 12-month teacher contract are paid during Spring Break and Winter Recess, however, are not expected to be in attendance or perform duties during those breaks.
