Unscheduled Earned Leave. Requests for unscheduled Earned 11 Leave (absences initiated on a day the employee is scheduled to work) should 12 be made only for employee illness or injury, or an emergency situation beyond 13 the employee’s control. An employee making such request may be required to 14 provide proof of inability to report to work. Such requests should be made as 15 soon as the employee becomes aware of the problem or at least two (2) hours 16 before the shift starts, if possible.
