Union Delegates and Union Matters. The Parties recognise the role that Employees’ on-site representatives have in seeking to ensure industrial harmony on-site. Further, the Parties recognise that the on-site representatives are a first point of contact for an Employee who has an employment related grievance or a grievance, query or concern arising under the terms of this Agreement. A Union Delegate is an Employee duly elected or appointed by Employees in an enterprise or workplace, or part of an enterprise or workplace. A Union Delegate will, upon notification from the Union to the Employer, be recognised as the accredited representative of the Employees and, if an Employee seeks representation by the Union Delegate, that representative will be allowed all the necessary time during working hours to submit to the Employer employment related matters affecting the Employees they represent. At all other times the Union Delegate will perform productive work within their range of qualifications and competence. A Union Delegate will be paid no less than a CW4 under the terms of this Agreement. Prior to the dismissal or transfer of a Union Delegate, two (2) days additional written notice shall be given by the Employer.

  • Union Delegates The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to designate Union Delegates who shall be authorized to take up employee or group grievances through the grievance procedure. A Union Delegate who is a bargaining unit employee and is processing a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure shall be permitted a reasonable time to assist in the resolution of legitimate employee grievances on the Employer's property without loss of pay. Such time off for processing grievances shall be granted by supervision following a request, but in consideration of any job responsibilities.

  • Union Delegate 32.5 Where an Employee is elected by Employees of the Employer as a Union Delegate, and the Union notifies the Employer of this election, the Employee will be classified as the higher of CW4, or the Employees usual classification. In addition, a Union Delegate is entitled to an all- purpose hourly allowance for the life of this agreement as per the table at Appendix 2 – Delegate Allowance.

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards. The Xxxxxxx shall assist any Employee, which the Xxxxxxx represents, in preparing and presenting her grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION SHALL ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES The Employer agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. The Employer agrees to provide the name, worksite phone number, and location of the new employee's xxxxxxx in the letter of hiring. Whenever the xxxxxxx is employed in the same work area as the new employee, the employee's immediate supervisor will introduce her to her xxxxxxx. The Employer agrees that a Union xxxxxxx will be given an opportunity to interview each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for thirty (30) minutes sometime during the first thirty (30) days of employment for the purpose of acquainting the new employee with the benefits and duties of Union membership and the employee's responsibilities and obligations to the Employer and the Union.

  • UNION REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES 7.01 (a) It is mutually agreed that where negotiations are conducted on a joint basis between any or all of the Nursing Homes in the Extendicare chain in the Province of Ontario, the Union will elect or otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of one (1) representative from each Nursing Home.

  • Union Decal The Employer agrees to display the official Union decal of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union in a location where it can be seen by customers.

  • Union Bargaining Committees ‌ A union bargaining committee shall consist of employees who are representatives of the Union together with the President of the Union or designate. The Union shall have the right at any time to have the assistance of members of the staff of the Union when negotiating with the Employer.

  • List of Union Representatives The Union agrees to provide and maintain an up-to-date list of all Union Representatives (including Union Stewards, Union Executive, Grievance Committee, Labour/Management Committee and Negotiating Committee) to the Director of Human Resources or designate.
