Union Delegate. 32.5 Where an Employee is elected by Employees of the Employer as a Union Delegate, and the Union notifies the Employer of this election, the Employee will be classified as the higher of CW4, or the Employees usual classification. In addition, a Union Delegate is entitled to an all- purpose hourly allowance for the life of this agreement as per the table at Appendix 2 – Delegate Allowance.

In addition to the wage rates prescribed in this Agreement, Employees shall be paid additional allowances as provided for by the relevant Award. The rates for the various allowances shall be as provided below subject to the allowance for the year 2023 being the sole allowance increase for that year. The rates for all allowances shall be payable from the commencement of the first pay period after the dates specified.
Union Delegate. Where an Employee is elected by Employees of the Employer as a Union Delegate, and the Union notifies the Employer of this election, the Employee will be classified at the applicable level 4 minimum or at 96% for plumbing trades, or the Employees usual classification. Union Delegate. Is any Employee who has been designated by the Union to perform Union duties, subject to the provisions of the Collective Agreement regarding Union activities.

Union Delegate. The union may appoint one employee per work establishment as a union delegate who has the function of meeting with any employee of the said establishment who has a problem regarding his or her working conditions which may give rise to a grievance. For this reason, the employee and the union delegate may temporarily interrupt their work without loss of salary or reimbursement, after having obtained permission from their immediate superiors and after having indicated the probable duration of their absence. Permission cannot be refused without a valid reason. However, in the case where, in the same establishment, there are three (3) or fewer than three (3) employees in a bargaining unit, the union may appoint a delegate for a group of employees included in its jurisdiction, which must not exceed a three point two (3.2)-kilometre radius. If the union delegate is unable to act or is absent, the union representative may take his or her place.
