Timing of the Subsequent Appointment(s). Where an employee’s first appointment is in a Fall/Winter academic session, the employee’s subsequent appointments shall normally occur in consecutive Fall/Winter sessions immediately subsequent to the academic session in which the employee was employed on their initial appointment. Where an employee’s first appointment is in a Summer academic session, the employee’s subsequent appointments shall normally be in consecutive Summer academic sessions immediately subsequent to the academic session in which the employee was employed on their initial appointment. Where an employee’s initial appointment is in the Summer academic session, the employee’s remaining subsequent appointments shall be transferred to the Fall/Winter academic session upon request of the employee.

Where an employee’s first appointment is in a Summer academic session, the employee’s subsequent appointments shall normally be in consecutive Summer academic sessions immediately subsequent to the academic session in which the employee was employed on his/her initial appointment. Variation in the consecutive nature of the academic sessions in which an employee is appointed to subsequent appointments (i.e., delaying an appointment to a non-consecutive academic session) shall be determined by the employing Department in consultation with the employee.

  • Term Appointments 16.3.4.1 A Term appointment carries no implication of renewal or continuation beyond the contractually limited term. A person holding a Term appointment may apply for a Probationary or Continuing appointment if such a position is available.

  • Joint Appointments 22A.09 When sound academic reasons exist for doing so, a Faculty Member may be appointed jointly to two (2) or more Academic Departments or Faculties. Such appointments shall be at the same rank, of the same type and with the same salary rate, in the Academic Departments or Faculties concerned. When sound academic reasons exist for doing so, a Faculty Member may be appointed jointly to an Academic Department and to a non-academic unit within the University. The Faculty Member shall have his/her rank, type of appointment, academic component of salary, credit for previous experience, promotion eligibility and other academic conditions determined on the same basis as for other Faculty Members.   • Initial Appointment Upon initial appointment, a bargaining unit employee shall be issued a letter of offer, signed by the xxxx/director, citing specific terms and conditions of employment and his or her initial assignment of responsibilities. The University may enclose informational addenda, except that such addenda may not abridge the employee's rights or benefits provided in the BOT-UFF Agreement or BOT- UFF Policies. All academic year appointments for employees at a University shall begin on the same date. Two weeks prior to the beginning of classes each semester, the University shall send to the UFF Chapter a list of bargaining unit employees hired since the beginning of the previous semester, showing name; rank or title; department, college, program or employment unit; salary; and principal place of employment (campus). The initial letter of offer shall contain the following elements:

  • Visiting Appointments A "visiting" appointment is one made to a person having appropriate professional qualifications but not expected to be available for more than a limited period, or to a person in a position which the University does not expect to be available for more than a limited period. A visiting appointment may be offered in single or multi-year appointments not to exceed a total of four (4) consecutive years.

  • Committee Appointments Members of the transfer screening committee and transfer interview committee shall be taken from the general hiring committee. The hiring committee will determine the appointments to the transfer screening and interview committees under conditions in Sections 5.3.2.1 and 5.3.2.2.

  • Continuing Appointments A Continuing appointment signifies the right of a Member to continuous employment that may be terminated only through the mechanisms provided in Article 8.

  • SECTION 2 - APPOINTMENT 2.1 Employee is appointed as a technical officer currently assigned as the Executive Assistant effective August 4, 2020, on the terms and conditions set out in the Agreement.
