Common use of Substitute Employee Clause in Contracts

Substitute Employee. A person, hired on an interim hourly basis, usually to fill the absence of a regularly scheduled employee. Only Article 1 Recognition, Article 2 District Rights, 13.5 Compliance with District Policies and Procedures, 9.4 Holiday Work, 17.1 Salary Schedules, and Article 20 Severability will be applicable to substitute employees. Substitutes do not receive benefits.
