SICK LEAVE ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS. (01) Pay for absence because of illness will only be made when an employee requesting such pay provides authentic medical certification if such certification is requested by the Hospital. An employee who abuses the sick leave privileges shall be subject to disciplinary action by the Hospital up to and including discharge. A sick leave certificate will only be requested given the circumstances under which it is reasonable to do so. Pay for absence because of illness will only be made when an employee requesting such pay provides authentic medical certification if such certification is requested by the Hospital, which shall normally be after three (3) days’ consecutive illness or for illness on a paid holiday.
