The insurance does not pay compensation for accidents resulting from the use of motorised vehicles subject to registration in Iceland and which are covered by legally prescribed vehicle insurance, irrespective of whether covered by third-party insurance or by the driver’s and owner’s accident insurance under the Traffic Act. The insurance shall take effect with respect to the employee when he begins working for the employer (is added to the payroll roster) and expires when employment is terminated.

The insurance shall cover accidents that occur in sports, competitions and games providing that these have been held under the auspices of the employer or the employees’ association, and participation in such activities is expected as part of the employees’ work. In this context, it shall make no difference whether the accident takes place during or outside normal working time. Exceptions from this rule shall be accidents resulting from boxing, wrestling of all types, motor sports, hang-gliding, gliding, bungee jumping, mountain climbing which requires special equipment, abseiling, diving with a diving suit and parachuting. The insurance will not pay compensation for an accident resulting from the use of motorised vehicles that are subject to registration requirements and for which compensation must be paid according to legally-prescribed motor vehicle insurance, irrespective of whether this is covered by third-party insurance or the driver’s and owner’s accident insurance under the Traffic Act. The insurance shall become valid vis-à-vis the employee when he starts work for the employer (is registered on the payroll) and shall expire when he leaves employment.

  • Sickness and Accident Insurance During the term of this Agreement, the Employer shall pay the required premiums for each employee for sickness and accident insurance which will pay Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per week for a period of fifty-two (52) weeks. This benefit shall be payable from the thirty-first (31st) day of disability due to illness or injury.

  • Personal Accident Insurance The Member is covered by policies of insurance which pay benefits in case of injury, death or dismemberment as the result of an accident. A certificate of insurance that explains the benefits provided by the policy will be given to the Member with this Membership Contract.   • Retirement Insurance A teacher retiring from the District and under the provisions of Teachers’ Retirement Association (TRA) is eligible to continue to participate in group insurance programs (health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, supplemental life insurance) as permitted under the insurance policy provisions provided the teacher pay the entire premium for such group insurance programs commencing with the beginning of the retirement (see District Website, Human Resources for specific coverage available). The teacher shall be responsible for paying the monthly premium amounts in advance and on such dates as determined by the District/third party administrator.
