Common use of Salary Schedule Advancement Clause in Contracts

Salary Schedule Advancement. ‌ The salary increase shall be as follows:2020-2021: $2,000 Less than full-time employees will receive a prorated increase for a contract of one hundred seventy-six (176) student days and one hundred eighty-one (181) teacher work days. If a teacher is not doing a satisfactory job of teaching in this school system, they will receive a written statement of the problem and the probable action from the principal. After a plan of assistance has been implemented without progress being made within sixty (60) days, the school board reserves the right to refuse to grant an increment to any teacher. Professional Growth/ Educational Incentive-National Certification: The teacher must apply IN ADVANCE by no later than September 10 for the incentive and establish written criteria as determined by the National Certification Board. A staff member who successfully completes and receives National Teacher Certification shall be compensated $1,000 in addition to any stipend provided by the State of South Dakota or the federal government, per year for five (5) years beginning August 1 of the next school year after receiving said certification. This stipend shall be paid at the end of the school year (June 20 payroll) upon verification.
