Rescheduling Holidays Holidays in Sections. 16.1 not taken on the designated day and personal time in Section 16.2 may be taken on another day as mutually agreed by the employee and the Chief of Police or his designee. An employee should give the Employer a five (5) calendar day advance notice of when a holiday is desired. The Employer has the right to cancel and reschedule any holiday based on manpower needs. In instances where the five (5) calendar day advance notice is given and where at least seventy-two (72) hours advance notice of the cancellation of a holiday is not given, the employee will receive their overtime rate for hours actually worked.

The Hospital will provide time off from the completion of the night shift the day before the holiday that the Employee is granted (either Christmas Day or New Year's Day). Christmas will include Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day and New Year's will include New Year's Eve Day and New Year's Day. Where an Employee requests not to be scheduled off five (5) consecutive days at Christmas or New Year’s, such an Employee is to put her/his request in writing to the Clinical Manager.
