Preferred Hiring Pool. 2 (PHP 2) PHP 2 candidates must have a minimum of ten (10) years of service and one hundred and twenty-four (124) units in the bargaining unit. They must notify their department chair in writing on their intent to apply for PHP 2. Promotion to PHP 2 will be based on teaching excellence, collegiality, continuing professional development in teaching, and support for department / programs learning objectives and outcomes. Decisions by the Xxxx for PHP 2 status will be final and shall not be subject to the grievance and arbitration provisions of the agreement.

Preferred Hiring Pool. 2 (PHP 2) Effective spring 2011, the University will announce a new PHP category (PHP 2) that will be implemented fall 2011. The University will meet and confer to develop mutually acceptable guidelines with the Part-time Faculty Association before they are finalized. Promotion to PHP 2 will be limited to a maximum of 10 adjunct professors in 2011 and will be based on teaching excellence. Decisions by the xxxx for PHP 2 status will be final and shall not be subject to the grievance and arbitration provisions of the agreement.
Preferred Hiring Pool. Except as noted in #3 below, Part-time faculty in the College Preferred Hiring Pool will be given preference in assignment over Part-time faculty in the Non-Preferred Hiring Pool (see #4 below for specifics). Within the College Preferred Hiring Pool, all faculty will be treated equally: This policy is in no way meant to modify or change existing PCCD policies and practices in assignment of extra service classes to contract faculty, (see Article 18).
