Common use of Overtime in Emergency Circumstances Clause in Contracts

Overtime in Emergency Circumstances. Employees shall not be required to work overtime against their wishes except in emergency circumstances. An emergency circumstance shall be defined as a circumstance driven by an unforeseen and/or unpredictable influx of patients and/or an unanticipated increase in care required to address patient well being. Such overtime shall be consistent with the Employee’s normal responsibilities in her work area.
