Meal Guidelines. The meal must comply with the menu planning standards based on the Elderly Nutrition Guidelines as specified in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, Division 1.8, Sections 7630 – 7638.13 and in the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans, published by the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Agriculture, and meet the minimum requirements of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) as established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
