Manuscripts and Book Agreements Sample Clauses

Manuscripts and Book Agreements. Once a Book proposal is approved by both parties, the Publisher will manage the writing, development and/or acquisition of original manuscripts, together with relevant bibliographies and illustrations, through the use of Publisher’s Electronic Manuscript Submission System (EMSS). The Publisher and AACCI shall enter into an agreement for each individual Book or series of Books with the relevant author(s) and editor(s) (“Book Agreements”), and shall include, but not be limited to, the transfer of rights to AACCI; and the provision that payments or royalties to such author(s)/editor(s) shall be the sole responsibility of AACCI. No work shall be published without a signed Book Agreement. AACCI will consult with the Publisher on the royalty percentage in the author(s)/editor(s), but AACCI will have the final decision on royalty percentage. The Publisher will be responsible for obtaining written agreements with each contributor to an edited Book (“Contributor's Agreement”). The Publisher will have the sole right to negotiate all terms of the Contributors’ Agreements except for those terms relating to the amount of remuneration the Contributor will receive under the Contributor’s Agreement. Any remuneration to Contributors will be paid by the Publisher as an advance and on account of royalties paid to AACCI for the relevant Book. Under no circumstances shall the Publisher be required to include a contribution in a Book unless a signed Contributor's Agreement, acceptable to the Publisher, has been received by the Publisher with respect to such contribution prior to the publication of the Book.
