LEAVES WITH PAY FOR TENURED FACULTY MEMBERS. A. The University and the Association mutually agree that the taking of paid leaves of absence by tenured faculty members for the purpose of academic refreshment or expansion of experience is to the benefit of the University and its students. Therefore, the University agrees to grant a faculty member a paid leave of absence depending on such factors as length of service, availability of alternative faculty or instructors, and the priority of the need in each case, subject to the provisions of this Article.
