Common use of LEAVE OF Clause in Contracts

LEAVE OF. absence without pay for full-time Union employment shall be granted under the following conditions: In the event that employees become full-time officials of the Union, they shall be granted leave of absence for the purpose of carrying out the duties of their office and shall retain their seniority in the Library as if they had remained in continuous employment. They shall have the right at any time upon giving one (1) month's notice to return to the same position or any other comparable position for which they are eligible. Such employees shall make regular contributions to the Pension Fund and all employee benefits, participating in them as would a permanent employee of the Employer. Contributions to these benefits shall be based on their earnings during their full-time employment with the Union, who shall pay the Employer's portion, making due allowance for changes in their marital status and number of dependents.
