Common use of Jury and Witness Clause in Contracts

Jury and Witness. 1001 Should an employee be required on his or her regular work day to report for jury duty or is subpoenaed to testify before an administrative tribunal, court of law, xxxxxxx's inquest, Parliamentary Inquiry, or Royal Commission, excluding any matter between the parties, the employee will not suffer any loss of compensation. However, the employee will not be entitled to any pay under this Article if he or she is a party or principal in any of the aforementioned proceedings unless he or she is a party or principal as a result of performing the employee's proper duties for the Employer. The employer will make every reasonable effort to maintain the hours of a part-time employee called to appear before any of the bodies so that the employee doesn’t suffer a financial loss.
