When an injury occurs in the course of employment, the County's obligation to pay under the sick leave article is limited to the difference between any payment received under Workers’ Compensation laws and the employee's regular salary. In such instances, charges against accrued sick leave will be based upon the hours of sick leave necessary to permit an employee to maintain his/her regular straight time earnings during the period of disability to the extent the employee has accrued, but unused, sick leave.
