Inspection by Superintendent. No person shall tap any main or distribution pipe or make or interfere with any connection with the water system unless under the direction of and in the presence of the Superintendent, or unless he be an employee of the District or unless specific permission in each case be given by the District. Nor shall any person make any alterations or additions in and about water pipes, other than on the customer’s side of the meter, unless the District upon written application shall have given a written permit therefore. Where a new connection is made with street mains and where new extensions or attachments are made in unoccupied premises, the Superintendent upon notification by the customer shall close the curb stop. The customer shall give the District notice of the completion of the work, and the curb stop shall not again be opened until the work has been inspected and approved by the Superintendent and the meter read. Pipes and connections between the main and meter shall not be covered until so inspected and approved by the Superintendent.

  • Superintendent's Duties The Superintendent’s duties shall be as prescribed by statute and by Board policies, rules, regulations and directives. The Superintendent agrees to devote the Superintendent’s time, skill, labor and attention to all required duties throughout the contract term. The Superintendent shall be subject to the direction and control of the Board at all times and shall perform such administrative duties as the Board assigns. By agreement with the Board, the Superintendent may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing, or other professional duties and obligations as long as they do not interfere with carrying out the Superintendent’s duties and obligations to the District.
