Superintendent's Duties. The Superintendent’s duties shall be as prescribed by statute and by Board policies, rules, regulations and directives. The Superintendent agrees to devote his time, skill, labor and attention to his duties throughout the contract term. He shall be subject to the direction and control of the Board at all times and shall perform such administrative duties as the Board assigns to his. By agreement with the Board, he may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing, or other professional duties and obligations as long as they do not interfere with carrying out his duties and obligations to the school district.

Subject to the approval of the Board, the Superintendent shall be responsible for organizing, reorganizing and arranging the administrative and supervisory staff of the district in a manner which best serves the schools of the District. The administration of instruction and business affairs shall be vested in the Superintendent and administered by him with the assistance of his staff. The Superintendent shall be responsible for selecting, placing, and transferring personnel. He shall be responsible for initiating all personnel matters which require action by the Board, including making recommendations to the Board concerning the termination or discharge of any personnel. The Superintendent agrees to devote his time, skill, labor and attention to his duties as Superintendent of Schools throughout the term of this Contract; provided, however, by agreement with the Board, he may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing or other professional duties and obligations.

The Superintendent is xxxxxx employed as District Superintendent and agrees to satisfactorily perform the duties of District Superintendent as prescribed by the laws of the State of California and the District's job description for the position of Superintendent, if any. Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of the Superintendent’s duties. He will devote his full-time skill, labor and attention to the performance of his duties; provided, however, that: (a) the Superintendent may, without prior Board approval, undertake speaking engagements, writing, lecturing or other professional duties and obligations for which the only remuneration is reimbursement of expenses, and (b) this other work shall not interfere in a material or substantial manner with the obligations as set forth in this Contract. The Superintendent may undertake speaking engagements, writing, lecturing or other professional duties and obligations for which there is remuneration in excess of reimbursement of expenses and any other consultative work only upon prior approval of the Board, and the Superintendent shall be obligated to use his vacation days as hereinafter described when such activities occur during business hours of the School District.

He will devote his full time, skill, labor, and attention to the performance of his duties; provided, however, by agreement with the Board, the Superintendent may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing, or other professional duties and obligations so long as such other work is not inconsistent with his duties and obligations to the Board.

He agrees to devote his time, skill, labor, and attention to his duties throughout the term of this Contract; provided, by agreement with the Board, he may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing, or other professional obligations.
Superintendent's Duties. The duties of the Superintendent shall be as prescribed in the Board of Education Policy Manual, Section 5100, which duties are incorporated by reference into this Contract as if set forth verbatim herein. The Superintendent agrees to devote his time, skill, labor and attention to his duties as Superintendent of School throughout the term of this Contract; provided, however, the Superintendent, by agreement with the Board, may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing, or other professional duties and obligations. The duties of the Superintendent as set forth in the BOARD OF EDUCATIONAL POLICY MANUAL shall not be changed during the continuance of the Contract without the consent of the Superintendent by an amendment to this Contract as provided in Section 16 hereof.
