Holidays on Saturday/ Sunday. Beginning January 1, 2015: Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday. Similarly, when a holiday falls on a Sunday, the succeeding Monday shall be observed as the holiday.
