Funeral Leave. In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted leave of absence with pay. The length of such absence shall be at the discretion of the Employer. The term "immediate family" shall mean spouse, common law spouse (including same sex partner), parent, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, or any relative living in the household of the employee. It is understood that the minimum leave of absence shall be three (3) days except in the case of a spouse, parent or child the minimum shall be one (1) week. It is further understood that in the case of a part time employee, the compensation shall be at the average hours worked during the preceding four (4) weeks.
