Family Emergency Leave. In the case of sudden illness or injury of a member of a full-time employee’s immediate family, when no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs of the ill or injured family member, the employee may take up to five paid days per calendar year to care for the dependent, and shall not be unreasonably refused requests for additional unpaid days off. See Article 16 (d) re part-time employees.
