Common use of Educational Attainment Clause in Contracts

Educational Attainment. (1) an employee is licensed in a given subject or endorsement area at the time that a layoff is declared but has not met the recent teaching requirement, and/or (2) is willing to complete additional training and educational preparation equivalent to eight credit hours prior to the beginning of the new school year in order to qualify for retention. The specific credit hours must be approved by the District. Upon an employee's request or by the District's own initiative, the District will give due consideration to these provisions prior to making the determination to retain or lay off any employee.
