Common use of Dues and COPE Deduction Clause in Contracts

Dues and COPE Deduction. On September 1 of each contract year SEIU925 shall provide a full and complete list of bargaining unit employees who are current members of SEIU925 to the District, and shall provide updates, additions, and/or other changes in membership status to the District on at least a monthly basis thereafter. Upon notification of an employee's membership status in SEIU925 and or election to participate in the SEIU925 political program (COPE), the District shall deduct union dues and COPE contributions as identified by SEIU925 from the employee’s monthly pay warrants. Any deductions for political contributions subject to RCW 42.17A.495 shall be separately authorized in writing by the employee on forms maintained by the District that comply with WAC 000-00-000, and shall be revocable by the employee at any time, upon written notice to the District.
