Definition of Holiday Pay. The following clause is applicable to full-time and pro-rated employees only Holiday pay shall be defined as the amount of straight time pay, exclusive of shift premium, which the employee would have received if she had worked her normal daily working schedule on the holiday in question.

Definition of Holiday Pay. Holiday pay, for an employee working the standard hours per day, as set out in Article 14.01, is defined as the amount of straight-time hourly pay exclusive of shift premium which an employee would have received had he worked a normal shift on the holiday in question. In order to qualify for holiday pay for any holiday, as set out in the Local Appendix, an employee must complete her scheduled shift on each of the working days immediately prior to and following the holiday except where absence on one or both of the said qualifying days is due to a satisfactory reason. An employee who was scheduled to work on a holiday, as set out in the Local Appendix, and is absent shall not be entitled to holiday pay to which she would otherwise be entitled unless such absence was due to a satisfactory reason. An employ who qualifies to receive pay for any holiday will not be entitled, in the event of illness, to receive sick pay in addition to holiday pay in respect of the same day.

  • List of Holidays a) The Employer recognizes the following paid holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Easter Monday Boxing Day Victoria Day Civic Holiday (deferred to Christmas Shutdown) Canada Day Plus, any other day(s) declared or proclaimed as a Statutory Holiday by the Federal or Provincial Government. The Employer shall post a list no later than December 15th of each year stating on which day the Civic Holiday and any other deferred holiday will be observed.
