Approval and Denial of Sick Leave Request. 1. Sick leave requests shall be granted for purposes approved by law and government-wide regulations, including 5 C.F.R. 630.401. This includes medical, dental, or optical examination or treatment; incapacity for the performance of an employee’s duties by physical or mental illness or injury, pregnancy, or childbirth; providing care for a family member who is incapacitated by a medical or mental condition or attending to a family member receiving medical, dental, or optical examination or treatment; providing care for a family member with a serious health condition; making arrangements necessitated by the death of a family member or attending the funeral of a family member; where, as determined by health authorities or by a health care provider, an employee’s exposure to a communicable disease would jeopardize the health of others; for purposes relating to the adoption of a child, including appointments with adoption agencies, social workers, and attorneys, court proceedings, travel and other activities necessary to allow the adoption to proceed.

  • Pregnancy and Parental Leaves (a) Pregnancy and Parental Leaves shall be granted in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

CONTRACTOR shall require such employees, agents, subcontractors, and all other individuals performing services under this Agreement to sign a statement acknowledging the child abuse reporting requirements set forth in Sections 11166 and 11166.05 of the Penal Code and the dependent adult and elder abuse reporting requirements, as set forth in Section 15630 of the WIC, and shall comply with the provisions of these code sections, as they now exist or as they may hereafter be amended.

  • Dismissal and Suspension Grievance All dismissals and suspensions will be subject to formal grievance procedure under Article 8. A copy of the written notice of dismissal or suspension shall be forwarded to the President of the Union within five (5) days of the action being taken.
