Absence⎯ Compensable Disability. Absence due to a compensable disability incurred during the course of employment shall not break continuous service, provided such individual is returned to work within 30 days after final payment of statutory compensation for such disability or after the end of the period used in calculating a lump sum payment.   • Extended Disability Leave a. Due to a medical disability, an employee shall be granted an extended leave of absence without pay (subject to Paragraph d hereof) if any one of the following conditions exists:

  • Duty Disability (1) For Calendar Year 2018, 2019, and 2020 Depending on the individual's single/family enrollment status, the cost of coverage for individuals receiving a duty disability retirement allowance shall be as provided in subsection 3.a.(1) of this Article, above.

Thereafter, employees able by reason of education, training or experience to perform the duties of a gainful occupation for which the rate of pay is not less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the current rate of pay of their regular occupation at date of disability will not be considered totally disabled and will therefore not be eligible for benefits under this Long Term Disability Plan.

  • Parental and Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Parental leave will be granted to the employee for the purpose of bonding with their newborn, adoptive or xxxxxx child. Parental leave may extend up to six (6) months, including time covered by the family medical leave, during the first year after the child's birth or placement. Leave beyond the period covered by family medical leave and pregnancy disability may only be denied by the Employer due to operational necessity. Such denial may be grieved beginning at the top internal step of the grievance procedure in Article 30.
