The University will not subject any individual who makes a Disclosure or files a Formal Complaint to disciplinary action for alcohol or substance use occurring at or near the time of the incident(s), save for remedial measures to assist a University Community Member struggling with responsible alcohol or substance use.
Even if a Responding Party is found not to have violated the Policy, the University may direct in writing that the Reporting Party, in the Reporting Party’s role as a University Community Member, cease behavior that, if continued or accumulated, would constitute a conduct prohibited by the Policy.
Regardless of the nature of the Responding Party’s relationship with the University, or any disciplinary actions taken against a Responding Party, additional remedies, interventions, and accommodations may be available to a Reporting Party, including a Third Party Reporting Party, or a University Community Member, either individually or collectively.

Disclosure: Occurs when a University Community Member or Visitor who has experienced Sexualized Violence confides in the Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response Officer about the experience.
Consultation is encouraged when a University Community Member witnesses an incident that might violate the Respectful Workplace Policy or that may constitute harassment, violence, or discrimination.
The decision to implement Interim Measures will be made after balancing the safety and security of the University Community Member deemed to be at risk, with the rights of the Respondent.
A Complaint may be filed with the Office of Human Rights and Equity if the Respondent is a University Community Member.
Any University Community Member experiencing violence outside of the workplace (i.e. domestic violence) that may create a risk of danger to themselves or others in the workplace is encouraged to contact the DHR.
