Sieve analysis definition

Sieve analysis means a method of determining grain-size distribution by mechanically separating the various size portions using a set of graduated sieves and weighing the portion of the sample retained on each sieve. These weights are converted to percent retained and graphically plotted against grain size to show the grain size distribution in a well.
