Extended unpaid leave definition

Extended unpaid leave means leave without pay subsequent to the initial two consecutive weeks such leave. Employees who are on extended unpaid leave and are NOT eligible for FMLA Leave (refer to definition of eligibility in the FMLA policy). When an employee is on an extended unpaid leave of absence (more than two consecutive work weeks), benefits will be affected as follows (refer to current Benefit Plan to verify that a given fringe benefit is actively available and the employee is eligible):

Examples of Extended unpaid leave in a sentence

  • Extended unpaid leave due to illness or injury for a period of time, not to exceed sixty (60) calendar days, shall be granted automatically upon application from non-probationary employees for illness or injury, subject to the Employer's right to require proof of disability or injury.

  • Extended unpaid leave due to illness or injury for a period of time not to exceed sixty (60) days shall be granted automatically upon application from non-probationary employees for illness or injury, subject to the Employer's right to require proof of disability or injury.

  • Extended unpaid leave can also be used in conjunction with other forms of leave with their own prescribed parameters, as detailed elsewhere in this Agreement.

  • Extended unpaid leave may be granted at the discretion of the Head of Service where the employee is required to attend to pressing personal needs such as that of a family member becoming ill.

  • Extended unpaid leave for study or travel shall not be granted for less than one semester at a time.

  • Extended unpaid leave time will not be counted toward years of experience for purposes of longevity.

  • Extended unpaid leave can be shared between primary and non-primary caregivers.

  • Extended unpaid leave with urgent need (affects time in pension)2.

  • Unpaid Amounts owing to any party means, with respect to an Early Termination Date, the aggregate of (a) in respect of all Terminated Transactions, the amounts that became payable (or that would have become payable but for Section 2(a)(iii)) to such party under Section 2(a)(i) on or prior to such Early Termination Date and which remain unpaid as at such Early Termination Date and (b) in respect of each Terminated Transaction, for each obligation under Section 2(a)(i) which was (or would have been but for Section 2(a)(iii)) required to be settled by delivery to such party on or prior to such Early Termination Date and which has not been so settled as at such Early Termination Date, an amount equal to the fair market value of that which was (or would have been) required to be delivered as of the originally scheduled date for delivery, in each case together with (to the extent permitted under applicable law) interest, in the currency of such amounts, from (and including) the date such amounts or obligations were or would have been required to have been paid or performed to (but excluding) such Early Termination Date, at the Applicable Rate. Such amounts of interest will be calculated on the basis of daily compounding and the actual number of days elapsed.
