VACANCIES, TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS. A. A vacancy shall be defined as a position which is unfilled because it is newly created or because the employee who previously held the position permanently separated from employment as a result of retirement, resignation, death or discharge. Vacancies shall be posted in the event the Board, in its discretion, determines the vacancy should be filled. Vacancies may be filled on an interim basis while they are posted. The position will be filled within 30 days of the posting deadline.
