TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS. Section 1. Notices of lateral transfer opportunities shall be posted for at least five (5) days on division bulletin boards and in branch offices. If an employee desires to transfer, he/she must submit a written request to Human Resources.

TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS. Section 8.1 - All job openings within the Department of Public Works shall be posted on the bulletin board for a period of seven (7) calendar days. The Employer shall post any job opening which it intends to fill within thirty (30) calendar days of its decision to fill the job opening; however, the thirty (30) calendar day time period may be extended upon written notice from the Employer to the Union. The Employer may fill any vacancy on a temporary basis during the time necessary to fill the job with a regular employee. The Employer has the right to hire outside the bargaining unit to fill a position whenever there are, in the Employer’s opinion, no employees with the necessary or desired training, experience, capability and qualifications available within the bargaining unit. Provided, the reasonableness of the Employer’s opinion is subject to the grievance procedure. Vacancies for operator-mechanics employed at the GHSLWW Treatment Plant will be posted in accordance with the transfer and promotion procedure set forth in this Section
