University Appointments Committee. (a) There shall be a University Appointments Committee composed of the Academic Vice-President or their designate, who shall be Chairperson and have a vote; one Xxxx to be appointed by the Employer; and three (3) tenured Faculty Members, one from each of the faculties of Arts, Science, and Commerce. Faculty Members will be elected under the auspices of Senate each year in April as needed to maintain a pool of 6 members (2 from each faculty), each to serve a three year term. The University Appointments Committee shall include at least one member of each gender. In no case shall the Xxxx be of the Faculty of the case in question, nor shall faculty members be from the Department. A quorum at any meeting will consist of a simple majority including at least two faculty members from different faculties. The Appointments Committee shall confirm that the procedures specified in Article 10.0 have been followed and that recommended candidates meet the qualifications for appointment to Academic Ranks as set out in Article 12.0.

  • Committee Appointments Members of the transfer screening committee and transfer interview committee shall be taken from the general hiring committee. The hiring committee will determine the appointments to the transfer screening and interview committees under conditions in Sections 5.3.2.1 and 5.3.2.2.

  • Emergency Appointments Absence from work to attend emergency medical or dental appointments and medical appointments arising from a work related accident covered by Workers' Compensation, shall be paid for from the employee's accumulated sick leave.
