Common use of Unclassified Service Clause in Contracts

Unclassified Service. Upon approval of the Employer, an Appointing Authority may grant a leave of absence without pay to a permanent or probationary employee to permit the employee to accept a position in the unclassified service. Such leave may be continued during the period of service in the unclassified service position and the employee, upon request to the Employer within sixty (60) calendar days of the termination of the appointment, shall be restored to a position in the same class and with the same status held at the time of the granting of the leave of absence. (M.S. 43A.08).
