Stretch Breaks. Where practicable, jobs involving VDT usage will be designed to avoid continuous usage (where continuous usage is defined as use which is uninterrupted by alternative work assignment, with all work assignments relating to dedicated attention to the VDT). In the interest of avoiding occupational fatigue which may arise from the continuous and dedicated usage of VDT equipment, employees are encouraged to use relaxation exercises from time to time (see "Exercises for the VDT Operator"). Where practicable, employees whose work requires the continuous usage of VDT's will be allowed stretch breaks for this purpose, as needed, within the guidelines of a five (5) minute break in every one (1) hour of continuous usage. Scheduled rest breaks as provided in the Collective Agreement will be considered as satisfying the need for a stretch break in the applicable time period.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Lunch Break Each Teacher shall receive each day an uninterrupted and continuous period of not less than forty (40) minutes for lunch, free from supervisory, teaching or other assigned duties (reference: Regulation 298.s. 3, Daily Sessions).

  • Tie Breaker In the event a reduction in number of teachers creates a situation requiring that a choice be made among teachers who have equal seniority, the selection of the teacher(s) for purposes of reduction shall be at the discretion of the School District based on criteria including performance, training, experience, skills in special assignments, special or advanced certifications obtained in the teacher’s field and subject matter employed, and other relevant factors.

  • Work Breaks All employees covered by this agreement shall be permitted ten (10) minutes in the first half and ten (10) minutes in the second half of a shift for a coffee break on the job during regular working hours. If extended overtime is required, additional coffee breaks shall be permitted during such overtime after each two (2) hours following the conclusion of each overtime meal break. However, for a compressed work week schedule, employees shall be permitted a break of fifteen (15) minutes in the first half and fifteen (15) minutes in the second half of such shifts.
