Step One: Notice of Meeting. Prior to any consideration of discipline, the Employer who has a complaint or who has received a complaint concerning an act, omission, or failure to conform to a required standard, including but not limited to, gender, sexual, racial or ethnic harassment, shall, within fourteen (14) days of receiving the complaint, notify the Employee and the Union in writing and schedule a meeting to be held within twenty-one (21) days to discuss the subject matter of the complaint informally. The Notice of Meeting shall include a brief but clear statement of the allegations which form the basis of the complaint, as well as the time, place, and date of the meeting, and shall inform the Employee of her/his right to Union representation at the meeting. If the complaint is dismissed by the Employer, the Notice of Meeting and all other relevant documentation concerning the meeting shall be destroyed.
