Spills to Surface Water. The spills to surface water category targets the work related to spills entering and discharging from storm sewers and/or spills on land entering surface waters. • Contain, recover and clean up spills/releases to surface waters by deploying and maintaining containment booms and/or sorbents at storm sewer outfalls accessing from land. • Investigate the source of spills/releases by inspection, sampling, interviewing and researching. Gather information on potential responsible party name, address, and telephone numbers. • Understand and implement tactics to contain, recover and clean up spills to surface waters. • Investigate and recover petroleum product from storm sewer systems and vent vapors safely. Provide and/or arrange for the use of heavy-duty equipment such as a vacuum truck for use during an emergency response. • Supply, deliver, and use synthetic and natural sorbents and other supplies to contain and recover spills/releases. • Follow USEPA and MPCA sampling protocols and methodologies for soil, water and air media. • Collect, preserve, transport and submit samples (solid, liquid and gas) to laboratories for analysis. • Provide laboratory data in an acceptable electronic format such as MPCA’s requirements for data integration into the Environmental Quality Information System (EQUIS). • Calculate volumes of contaminated soils, water, and waste materials and determine the appropriate treatment and/or disposal options. • Arrange for packaging, labeling, placarding, transportation, storage, management, and disposal of wastes generated during an emergency response.

  • Surface  Grade and shape the road surface, turnouts, and shoulders to the original shape on the TYPICAL SECTION SHEET. Inslope or outslope as directed to provide a smooth, rut-free traveled surface and maintain surface water runoff in an even, unconcentrated manner.  Blading shall not undercut the backslope or cut into geotextile fabric on the road.  If required by the Contract Administrator, water shall be applied as necessary to control dust and retain fine surface rock.  Surface material shall not be bladed off the roadway. Replace surface material when lost or worn away, or as directed by the Contract Administrator.  Remove shoulder berms, created by grading, to facilitate drainage, except as marked or directed by the Contract Administrator.  For roads with geotextile fabric: spread surface aggregate to fill in soft spots and wheel ruts (barrel spread) to prevent damage to the geotextile fabric.

  • Access to Site 3.05.1 Contractor may enter and leave the premises at all reasonable times without charge. Contractor and its employees may use the common areas and roadways of the premises where it is to perform the services together with all facilities, equipment, improvements, and services provided in connection with the premises for common use. This excludes parking for Contractor’s personnel. Contractor shall repair any damage caused by it or its employees as a result of its use of the common areas.

  • Groundwater The groundwater shall not be degraded as a result of the waste maintained at the facility.

  • Potable Water Contractor shall provide potable water and ice for the Stage 2 Site use, and ensure that a safe and plentiful supply of potable water and ice is available for all activities on the Stage 2 Site until Substantial Completion of Subproject 3. The water and ice for human consumption shall be of suitable quality.

  • Drainage ▪ Prevent silt bearing road surface and ditch runoff from delivering sediment to any streams or wetlands. ▪ Maintain rolling dips and drivable waterbars as needed to keep them functioning as intended. ▪ Maintain headwalls to the road shoulder level with material that will resist erosion. ▪ Maintain energy dissipaters at culvert outlets with non-erodible material or rock. ▪ Keep ditches, culverts, and other drainage structures clear of obstructions and functioning as intended. ▪ Inspect and clean culverts at least monthly, with additional inspections during storms and periods of high runoff. This shall be done even during periods of inactivity. Preventative Maintenance ▪ Perform preventative maintenance work to safeguard against storm damage, such as blading to ensure correct runoff, ditch and culvert cleaning, and waterbar maintenance.

  • Road Surfaces (1) Grade, shape, crown, and/or outslope surface and shoulders.

  • Underground Utilities Any required ground digging or subsurface work shall be done in accordance with Chapter 556, Florida Statutes. It shall be the responsibility of CONTRACTOR to have all underground utilities located before any work begins (Sunshine State One Call 0-000-000-0000). The repairs of any damaged underground utilities as a result of the work being performed by CONTRACTOR shall be the responsibility of CONTRACTOR. The proper utility company shall be contacted immediately to expedite the repairs, if damage has occurred. CONTRACTOR will notify the COUNTY and provide a written explanation of the incident within two (2) days of the damage to any underground utilities.

  • Underground Facilities All underground pipelines, conduits, ducts, cables, wires, manholes, vaults, tanks, tunnels, or other such facilities or attachments, and any encasements containing such facilities, including without limitation those that convey electricity, gases, steam, liquid petroleum products, telephone or other communications, cable television, water, wastewater, storm water, other liquids or chemicals, or traffic or other control systems.

  • Pipelines Developer shall have no interest in the pipeline gathering system, which gathering system shall remain the sole property of Operator or its Affiliates and shall be maintained at their sole cost and expense.
