Reservations in General. 69.1. Basic rules Reservations are divided into seat reservations, reservations for couchette berths (couchette supplement), reservations for sleeper berths (sleeper supplement) and reservations of spaces for bicycles. For reservations, special transport terms of the carrier providing the given reservation service always apply. For occupying seats, the provisions of the GCC-CIV/PRR apply. Every transport company can permit reservations on all types of trains and for all categories of seats or only on certain trains and for certain categories of seats. On certain trains, reservations are required; information about possible reservations (marked w) and required reservations (marked G) is specified in the timetable (in printed form or in electronic form). Reservation documents are valid only for the train and day for which they were issued in connection with a travel document valid for the train, carriage class and line segment for which the reservation was made. If a train with a reservation is unexpectedly cancelled for reasons that the carrier could not prevent, passengers with reservations for this train are seated preferentially to the extent possible on the next suitable train.
