Rate of Pay on Reclassification to a Level with a Lower Maximum Rate of Pay. On conversion to a level under the Plan having a lower maximum rate of pay, the employee shall be deemed to have retained for all purposes his/her former group and level. With respect to the pay of the incumbent, this may be cited as “Salary Protection Status” and shall apply until the position is vacated or the attainable maximum of the reclassified level, as revised from time to time, becomes greater than that applicable, as revised from time to time, to the former classification level. Employees under the “Salary Protection Status” shall receive the same economic increases as those granted to employees under the Plan.
