Professional Development Allowance – Commissioned Officers Only. (1) As from the date of certification of this Agreement, substantive Commissioned Officers shall be paid a Professional Development Allowance equivalent to 4.5% of the annual rate of Inspector pay point 1. The effective date for calculation is 1 July of each year.

In addition to formal courses of education, professional development courses include national exercises, conferences, overseas courses and deployments, external agencies, structured professional development process, in-service development courses and attendance at professional seminars.

This allowance is not payable: for an executive leadership course or programme if the Service offers an executive leadership programme approved by the QPCOUE; for a course relevant to the duties of a commissioned officer if the Service offers a relevant course. The Service shall not unreasonably withhold consent or approval of reimbursement for professional development courses relevant to the duties of a Commissioned Officer. In the event that a Commissioned Officer is dissatisfied with a decision of the Service to withhold consent or approval the decision may be challenged through the existing grievance and dispute resolution processes. Professional development course means: an executive leadership course or programme; a course relevant to the duties of the commissioned officer.

  • Professional Development Allowance 55.1 The CEO may, subject to this clause, approve the reimbursement or payment of financial assistance to a Science and Engineering Professional employee to offset professional development costs.

Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

An Employee shall be advised, prior to taking any professional development days of any transportation, registration fees, subsistence and other expenses that will be paid by the Employer. Such hours not used in each fiscal year shall not be carried forward into subsequent years. Applications for such paid professional development opportunities shall be made in writing, to the Employer as early as possible.

  • Professional Development Day The Employees shall be entitled to spend three (3) working days with pay for the purpose of doing research and preparation related to their work at a date mutually acceptable to the Employer and the Employee.
