Common use of Pregnancy and Parental Leaves Clause in Contracts

Pregnancy and Parental Leaves. 23.04 Employees shall be eligible for Pregnancy and/or standard or extended Parental Leave in accordance with the Employment Standards Act of Ontario. An Employee who becomes pregnant shall, upon request, be granted pregnancy leave for a period of up to seventeen (17) weeks beginning before, on or after the termination date of pregnancy and ending not later than seventeen (17) weeks after the termination date of pregnancy. At its discretion, the Employer may require an Employee to submit a medical certificate certifying pregnancy. The Employer shall reimburse the cost of the medical certificate.
