PREGNANCY AND PARENTAL LEAVE PREGNANCY LEAVE ENTITLEMENT. An employee who becomes pregnant is entitled to seventeen (17) consecutive weeks of maternity leave without pay, beginning no earlier than thirteen (13) weeks before the expected birth date, and no later than the actual week of the birth.

Leave beyond the period covered by family medical leave and pregnancy disability may only be denied by the Employer due to operational necessity. Such denial may be grieved beginning at the top internal step of the grievance procedure in Article 30.
