PLANT COMMITTEE. Article VI I The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Committee which shall administer the Agreement on behalf of the Union and shall negotiate any amendments or new Agreements. The Company shall and bargain with the said Committee on any matter properly arising during the continuance of the Agreement. He shall be on a full time basis for the purpose of administering the Agreement in cooperation with the regular stewards and the committeemen. The Plant Chairman shall be allowed access to and from the factory in the performance of his duties, and shall report to the xxxxxxx of any department it is found necessary to visit, state the reasons for doing so and secure verbal permission before entering. Permission requested under this article shall not be unreasonably refused. The Plant Chairman will normally occupy the Union office with facilities, including desk, chair, telephone and filing cabinet. The Plant Chairman will be supplied with written information concerning starts, surpluses, lay-offs, discharges, recalls, job classifications and forms involving transfer of employees. The Chairman of the Union Committee or, because of his unavailability another designated representative from the Plant Committee shall substitute for the Plant Chairman should the need arise. The Plant Chairman or his/her designates time will be charged to the Human Resources Department and shall receive the rate of pay equal to the highest rate of pay in the bargaining unit and will be paid the equivalent of forty hours per week at straight time. When the Plant Chairman ceases to hold office, he shall be returned, consistent with his seniority, to the classification and to the department in which he or she was employed at the time of his or her election as Plant Chairman, or to a job classification embracing comparable job duties to that which he held prior to his election. Before leaving his regular duties on behalf of the Company, a Committeeman must obtain written permission of his Xxxxxxx, make known his destination and again report to the Xxxxxxx at the time of his return. He shall also report to the Xxxxxxx of any department it is found necessary to visit, state the reasons for doing so if known (if not known report the reason after to the Xxxxxxx) and secure permission before entering. PLANT COMMITTEE. Article VI I The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Committee which herein referred to as “The Committee” consisting of not more than seven (7) employees, one of whom shall administer the Agreement on behalf be designated as a Chairman. Each member of the Union Committee shall have seniority with the Company and shall negotiate be a regular employee of the Company during his term of office. When the bargaining unit exceeds two hundred and fifty (250) members, the Union may have one additional committeeman. Four (4)Committeeman, plus the Plant Chairman, shall be elected from zones within the plant selected to ensure uniform representation. These four (4) Committeemen, and Plant Chairman, shall be scheduled to day shift. These Committeemen shall be retained and normally work in their respective plant area of representation regardless of seniority so long as there is work they are willing and able to do. When a Committee member is the junior man in the department, and there is a reduction in the department, such committeeman shall stay on his job and the next junior man will be displaced. One (1) Committeeman shall be elected for the afternoon shift, and one shall be elected for the night shift. Such Committeemen hold their position only while on the shift in question. The Company will recognize and deal with the Plant Committee on contract negotiations, any amendments matter properly arising out of this Agreement, and the said Committee will co-operate with the Company in the administration of this Agreement. The privilege of Committee Members to leave work without loss of pay to investigate and/or handle grievances or attend meetings with management, including time actually spent in contract negotiations, is granted under the following conditions: The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of grievances as provided for in this Agreement. No more time shall be used than is actually necessary. Each Committeeman will notify his Xxxxxxx when he leaves or returns to his job because of processing grievances. If it is necessary, in order to maintain production, he will wait for a replacement. A replacement will be provided without delay, except in unusual cases, in such cases it will be within the hour. PLANT COMMITTEE. Article VI I The Company acknowledges Plant Committee of five (5) members, includes the right President and the Vice President and three (3) shop stewards, of Local will be appointed by the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Committee which shall administer the Agreement on behalf of the Union and shall negotiate any amendments or new Agreements. The Plant Chairman will be supplied with written information concerning starts, surpluses, lay-offs, discharges, recalls, job classifications and forms involving transfer of employees. The Chairman of the Union Committee or, because of his unavailability another designated representative from the Plant Committee shall substitute for the Plant Chairman should the need arise. The Plant Chairman or his/her designates time will be charged to the Human Resources Department and shall receive the rate of pay equal to the highest rate of pay in the bargaining unit and will be paid the equivalent of forty hours per week at straight time. When the Plant Chairman ceases to hold office, he shall be returned, consistent with his seniority, to the classification and to the department in which he or she was employed at the time of his or her election as Plant Chairman, or to a job classification embracing comparable job duties to that which he held prior to his election. Before leaving his regular duties on behalf of the Company, a Committeeman must obtain written permission of his Xxxxxxx, make known his destination and again report to the Xxxxxxx at the time of his return. He shall also report to the Xxxxxxx of any department it is found necessary to visit, state the reasons for doing so if known (if not known report the reason after to the Xxxxxxx) and secure permission before entering. Permission requested under this article shall not be unreasonably withheld. This pass shall be accepted for any part of the factory where Lodge members are working. Plant Committee meetings with Management may be called by either Union or Management at any time it may be deemed necessary and any joint meetings will commence at any time mutually agreed upon, but not later than p.m. in the afternoon of the day arranged for such meeting. The Company agrees to furnish two rooms adjacent and/or close to one another for legitimate Union business providing it is used only during regular office working hours and is subject to the conditions of Article All members of the Plant Committee will be assigned day shift while they are members of the Plant Committee. Shop stewards will be appointed by the Union on the basis of one xxxxxxx for every one hundred employees (with a minimum of five and their duties shall be to handle the first stage of the grievance procedure. The Company agrees that the Plant Committee, President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Secretary-Treasurer of the Union, delegates, etc. shall be given excused time off to attend Union business if necessary, outside the plant and shall be paid by the Company and reimbursed by the Union. The Company (Human Resources Department) xxxxxx agrees to supply the Union, Lodge with a complete mailing list of all employees covered by the Lodge agreement up to two times per year upon written request of the Plant Chairman stating a reason for the request for the information.Article
