Pipe Flanges and bolts sizes. The contractor shall supply drilled pipe flanges which shall comply with the relevant requirements of SANS 1123. The contractor shall remove old pipe flanges, then supply and install all pipe flanges with slip on boss type flanges (Type 5). The flanges shall be  80NB Size flanges (Total Number 94, Rated Pressure 1000kPa, Type 5) 94 x 1000/5. The contractor will use M16 stainless steel 316 bolts on this size on the section with Teflon lining as that is where acid is mixed with water. On the tank side, carbon steel is suitable; however both carbon and stainless steel schedule should be 40.  100NB Size flanges (Total Number 36, Rated Pressure 1000kPa, Type 5) 36 x 1000/5. The contractor will use M16 stainless steel 316 bolts on this size.  Flanges shall have bolt holes, bolt holes shall be equally spaced on the pitch of the circle.  All flanges to be provided with test and material certificates.  Removed flanges to be disposed according to Eskom standards.  Suitable gaskets to be installed, used- of the correct material designed for acid systems
