Medical Facilities. Space shall be designated to permit an ill or injured employee to lie down until disposition of need. Cots, beds, stretchers, or pads are acceptable for this purpose. Space shall not be used for a storage area or any other purpose that would make it unavailable for immediate use in rendering first aid care.
Medical Facilities. The Contractor provides a First Aid service to his employees. In the case where these prove to be inadequate, as in the event of a serious injury, the Employer's Medical Centre and facilities will be available. Outside the Employer's office hours, the Employer's First Aid Services will only be available for serious injuries and life threatening situations. The Employer shall be entitled, however, to recover the costs incurred, in the use of the above Employer's facilities, from the Contractor.

The Contractor shall also provide a program of training for first-aid personnel among the workforce and establish an emergency response team, drawn from the medical and workforce first-aid personnel, to deal with serious on Site accidents. The Contractor shall produce for review by Owner within thirty (30) Days after Notice to Proceed, a plan detailing how emergency medical treatment will be administered. Such plan shall take into account capabilities of local hospital, medical facilities and Existing Facility capabilities and emergency plan.
Medical Facilities. (A) Every camp where 1000 or more persons reside shall be provided with whole time Doctor and Dispensary. If there are women in the camp, a whole time nurse Shall be employed.
(B) Every camp where less than 1000 but more than 250 persons reside shall be provided with Dispensary and a part time Nurse/Midwife.
(C) If there are less than 250 persons in any camp a First Aid Kit shall be maintained in-charge of whole time persons, trained in First Aid. All the medical facilities mentioned above shall be for all residents in the camp including a dependent of the worker, if any free of cost. Sanitary Staff - For each labour camp, there shall be qualified Sanitary Inspector and Sweeper should be provided in the following scales:
(1) For camps with strength over 200 but not exceeding 500 persons. One sweeper for every 75 persons above the first 200 for which 3 sweepers shall be provided.
(2) For camps with strength over 500 persons one sweeper for every 100 persons above 1 st 500 for which 6 sweepers should be provided. The Contractor shall pay not less than fair wages to labourers engaged by him in the work. Explanation
Medical Facilities. (ODOT Coalition) The Agency shall provide adequate first aid facilities, such as first aid kits, commensurate with the number of employees, nature of work performed, and availability of established medical facilities. Space for an ill or injured employee to lie down in privacy shall be provided where practical. The supervisor of the crew should be familiar with standard first aid practices and shall be responsible for obtaining first aid for employees injured while under their supervision.

The first-aid facilities, as a minimum, shall include a fully equipped first-aid room capable of treating injuries that can be anticipated on a construction Site. Once the Site staffing has reached a minimum of 100 personnel, at least one qualified emergency medical technician (EMT) or nurse shall be on duty during the hours when construction Work is in progress at Phase 1 Site. The Contractor shall also provide a program of training for first-aid personnel among the workforce and establish an emergency response team, drawn from the medical and workforce first-aid personnel, to deal with serious on Phase 1 Site accidents. The Contractor shall make provisions for cooling stations which shall be available when temperatures sustain a moderate risk level defined under the OSHA Heat Index and outdoor workers have prolonged exposure. Cooling stations shall be made available to all personnel at Phase 1 Site, including those employed by Owner, Subcontractors and visitors. Cooling stations will be addressed in the Project Construction Plan.

d) The Contractor to ensure that qualified and competent First Aiders and Emergency Care staff is permanently on site and at actual construction site for emergency situations, as and when they arrive.
e) The Contractor or his staff shall not move the injured party from the incident position and site unless the person/person’s life is in danger or the person is moved by a qualified and trained Emergency Care Worker.
Medical Facilities. Minor First Aid requirements should be provided by the Contractor. Should these prove to be inadequate, for example in the event of a major injury, the Employer’s Medical Centre and facilities will be available. The Employer shall be entitled however to recover the reasonable costs incurred in respect thereof from the Contractor/Sub-contractor. The Employer’s Medical Services for after hours will only be available for major injuries and life threatening injuries.
Medical Facilities. Contractors attention is drawn to Legal Notice No. 79 of 22nd September 1978 by which it is mandatory that every Contractor employing more than twenty people should appoint (in writing) a safety supervisor. A safety supervisor advice the management on all matters regarding safety, hygiene and welfare of the people affected by the Contractor's undertaking on the site. The safety officer may in addition carry out other duties. The contractor shall provide adequate first-aid equipment on the site and ensure that at least two of his site staff are completely trained in first aid.
