Common use of Pay for Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Pay for Sick Leave. Sick leave shall be payable only if authorized as paid sick leave by the employee's supervisor. The Employer may require certification of illness by a physician as a condition of eligibility for paid sick leave. Pay for sick leave shall be at the straight-time rate plus shift differential, if applicable. Paid sick leave shall count as hours worked in determining eligibility for weekly overtime. The Employer may also condition eligibility for paid sick leave upon notification of impending absence before the start of scheduled shifts as follows:
